As both noun and verb, the word neglect speaks about failure; the failure to give due and proper attention to somebody or something. Accepting that this troublesome word has the potential to be widely interpreted, Art South Africa invited a range of writers to offer their thoughts on neglect as it pertains to art production in South Africa. Jillian Carman, Mario Pissarra and Wilhelm van Rensburg each responded with a distinctive view.
